Date: 4/29/2017 TO 4/30/2017 Time: 9:00 AM TO 3:00 PM 8650 Boomtown Road Reno, NV 89439 Phone: 775-829-4128 Event Description: Cabela’s, the World’s Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, is helping its customers kick off the summer camping season with the Cabela’s Camping Classic at its Reno location, Thursday, April 27 through Wednesday, May 10 with major events planned for April 29-30. Cabela’s Camping Classic sale and event will offer customers the opportunity to stock up on the latest and greatest camping equipment in a variety of categories, including tents, sleeping bags, coolers, outdoor cooking and more. The event also will include free seminars designed to show customers camping tips and tactics to get the most out of their outdoor experiences with free camping seminars presented Saturday, April 29, and Sunday, April 30 plus Cabela’s annual Boy Scout Challenge will also be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. outside in front of the store. Pre-registration is required. At 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. each day, Cabela’s Outfitters will present three different seminars: “How to Pick the Perfect Tent” at 11 a.m., “Camp Cooking Essentials” at 12 p.m. and “Camping 101” at 1 p.m., all in the camping department. Also planned are Kayaks 101 in marine at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Fishing 101 at 2 p.m. both days in fishing. Guest appearances will include the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) doing Leave No Trace principles both days at their booth, the Gypsy King, a custom trailer manufacturer based in Reno with a display model in front of the store both days, the Gold Panner’s Association of America Northern Nevada Chapter with a gold panning activity on Saturday and the Reno Prospecting and Detecting Club doing metal detecting demonstrations on Saturday. For Cabela’s Boy Scout Challenge, scouts should pre-register by April 26 by calling (775) 829-4128. Scouts use their scout skills in timed or scored team events like blind folded tent setup, first aid, archery, metal detecting, gold panning and other events to accumulate team points.
