First time coming into Mill Street Tire... I was referred here by one of the large RV dealers in town for a spare for my RV. They had the tire and wheel in 2 days, and prices were very reasonable compared to larger tire chains in town. Great service too.

Brought my vehicle in to replace a catalytic converter. I had previously gotten a diagnostic from a reputable shop in Grass Valley CA, but the price was way too high. I decided to take my car here in order to get a less expensive one, considering that my vehicle was not registered in California & I was trying to avoid the racket surrounding this overpriced part considering I did not need it according to my states laws. To be fair the mechanic was sympathetic & wanted to help me with an after-market front converter (which is what i was told was all I needed).
Upon receiving my vehicle back it had gone from bad to un-driveable. Previously I was at least able to trek around town (in the hills), but after having paid for the work it would barely drive & sounded horrible. Previously it would struggle to go up hills & get louder, now anytime I push the gas it rattled & struggled. I scrambled to the closest hotel room and parked my car (perhaps for the last time). Called the shop the next day to let them now what was up & the woman there said she would get back to me, of which she never did. Now I'm out over a grand with an automobile that wont drive. I've never paid a good chunk of change to a shop & found out not only was the problem not fixed but made worse. I will be disputing these charges with the card I used to pay for this work & have never had such a bad experience at a shop, what a let-down.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

hi,this is mark stathes, i am the owner of the auto clinic.I am a bit confused with your review of my business. as you stated we installed a converter on your car based on a previous inspection of the car. I still have your old converter here and it is most definatley bad.if my memory serves your car was towed in so i dont have any pre knowledge of how it was before we worked on it. i am sorry you are not happy with the car, but from what i was told you were not willing to let us look at again. lisa said that you were just done with the car and did not want it anymore. it is possible that the converter we installled was bad, but i have no way to tell becasue the car isnt here to check. i do feel bad that we have a unhappy customer, i have strived for over 40 years to keep all my customers happy, but admittedly do have a problem from time to time. you are more than welcome to reach out to me so that perhaps we can rectify this problem for you.

Well, sometimes you find yourself driving a 32 foot RV towing a 20 foot trailer. And sometimes, the right side trailer tires blew out on the outbound trip and the kind people at The Auto Clinic/Mill Street Tire fixed them and sent you on your way. And you journeyed for two weeks to the East of Reno and--on the way, it occurred to you "I should have them check the LEFT side trailer tires as well (five years old; plenty of tread, but a tickling sense of...trouble)--
And you pull in and Ms. Lisa comes out, looks and gives her initial opinion that the left sides SHOULD get you home. And you turn back to the desk inside to talk about recharging the A/C because is 103 degrees and "POP"! The front left trailer tire cuts loose the blows. Because the tire is the ultimate arbiter of truth (we'll, that and the boiling hot pavement)
After a good mutual laugh, Ms. Lisa's team fixed up everything, charged the A/C --and the rest of the trip was utterly uneventful. Amazing.
I was lucky; they were helpful. $574 for two tires, A/C, their immediate help, and a good story--all worth it!
(And the root cause appears to be an axel misalignment on the forward axel which they honestly said would take three days to get to; and which will get fixed soonest)
Recommend these folks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Walter F.San Jose, CA2304415Apr 14, 2023

Honesty goes a long way with me and Auto Clinic proved to me that there are still honest shops around! They had my tahoe up and running again within an hour when it seemed hopelessly dead so kudos to you guys!! I will be telling everyone I know about you guys! Keep up the good work and thank you very much

The Auto Clinic on Mill Street is a joke people! Just had my tires installed only for them to question whether or not the charges had been paid for. Then, they tried to get us to purchase an alignment when all we wanted was an installation! Do yourselves a favor people and AVOID this place like the PLAGUE or you'll be sorry you went there!

Totally pleased with the pleasure in scheduling and the resulting performance of the service completed. Lisa as the scheduling contact was knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. You will get your money's worth and more from the expert team here.

This shop is the best, from the owner to the mechanics and customer service. Great, fair and reliable. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of an honest car repair shop.

A company you can trust. They have always gone above and beyond for me. As a senior, it's important to have someone you trust in your corner. Never once have they tried to replace my muffler bearings. Prices are reasonable. Comfortable waiting area.

Not young any more and don't have much patience. Car not young any more either. Being a woman, I like dealing with Lisa. She makes it easy! They have a nice clean, comfortable, reasonably quiet waiting area. Thanks, guys, for taking care of me.

Quick, easy, and they were very clear on the charges. I also loved the female mechanic who helped me out. She made me feel like the I was being charged appropriately. I will definitely be bringing my car back in fir the next service.
